ABOUT LINDA MAY
It’s no accident I make textile jewelry.
I’ve been sewing all my life. In high school, I could start a dress in the morning and wear it that night on a date.
My textile jewelry is made of bright silk, bold wool, and fancy beaded felt.
I meticulously hand stitch the tiny glass beads to big felt rounds. And I make the silver chain by hand.
I love the feel of fabric. I taught myself metalsmithing as a contrast in hard and soft.
I try out combinations — apple green with magenta, metallic with matte. When my heart beats a little faster, I know I got it right.
