The Fauves craved strong color.

The Fauves couldn’t stay away from big color. Here’s Maurice de Vlaminck’s portrait of Andre Derain. Andre Derain’s Montagnes a Collioure (1905). Henri Matisse’s Seville Still Life (1910). I’m kind of obsessed with color myself.
